Description[]
"a new cereal crunchy as a cone!"
Notes[]
Rice Cream Flakes were rice flakes coated in freeze-dried ice cream. The cereal was test marketed in New York where it was well received. Unfortunately, Nabisco wasn't able to secure enough freeze-dried ice cream to bring this product to the national market. There were very few producers of freeze-dried ice cream at the time, and Nabisco's primary supplier, Oregon Freeze-Dried Foods, was going out of business.
There was a vanilla, a chocolate, and a strawberry variety. There are suspicions that the cereal was also made in an orange variety.
The ad for them had children shouting: “I Scream, You Scream, We ALL Scream…for Rice Cream Flakes!”
